This month is all about the Soul Series! (And then the full cover reveal for Breaking True!)
Soul of the Dragon was sparked when my oldest daughter was about 2 years old. Some cartoon about a dragon was on, and I asked her if she wanted to meet one. She very definitively said “Yes. A red one.” And the first line of the book popped into my head.
That book took a very long time to write. Back then, I was writing short contemporary romances, which followed a pretty strict set of expectations. Soul of the Dragon was going to be a bigger, more complicated book, and I wasn’t ready to do that. So I restarted the story several times. Wrote chunks, then went years without working on it. No one I submitted to was interested, so in 2012 I made my first foray into self-publishing.
