Natalie’s Upcoming Events

Natalie at Cupboard Maker Books

I don’t know how I managed it, but I have a SLEW of appearances happening this year. I mean, I already did YAPA Con, an author panel and a meet and greet for the Dauphin County Library System, and a booksigning at Cupboard Maker Books. But wait! There’s more! If you’re hoping to meet me and get signed copies of my books, I have three opportunities for that! And if you just want to hang with me (and other authors) online and have a chance to get cool prizes, I have three opportunities for that, too! 🙂 So here are they are, in chronological order:

Lady Jane’s Salon, Lancaster
May 22, 1–4 p.m., The Cat’s Meow, Manheim, PA

I’ll be reading from my latest release, The Color of Courage, and will have some giveaways and books for sale. Other authors also featured are Misty Simon, Olivia Night, and Lydia Michaels.

Celebrate Dragons Month
May 23, 9–10:30 p.m. EDT on Facebook

I’ll be helping to celebrate the release of Jamie K. Schmidt’s new book (and dragons, of course) with a few other guest authors. Come by for chatting about dragons and dragon shifters, books, and probably hunks. That’s how these things tend to go. 🙂 And there are always prizes!

Romance Writers Gone Wild
May 26 & 27 on Facebook

This party actually goes on ALL WEEK LONG. Each day will feature authors in different romance genres. I’ll be posting on Thursday (as a paranormal romance/urban fantasy author) and Friday (as a romantic suspense author). But stop in every day and see what’s going on! Individual authors will be giving away prizes, and there are several “grand” prizes to be won, such as Kindles and gift cards.

YA Book Signing
June 11, 1–3 p.m., Cupboard Maker Books, Enola, PA

For this in-person booksigning, I’ll be wearing my YA hat as NJ Damschroder and signing the two books in my Fusion Series, including the new release, Shadow Mission. I’ll be joining Gabriella Gill and Tom Tancin. Come on by!

Romance Saturday
June 25, 2 p.m., Aaron’s Books, Litiz, PA

Meet 9 local romance authors as they sign and discuss their books.  Authors include NY Times bestselling Megan Hart, Vicky Burkholder, Sara Walter Ellwood, Natalie J. Damschroder, D.R. Grady, Patty Taylor, Gerri Bowen, Allison B. Hanson, and Brandy Ayers. There’s quite a mix of subgenres; check out details here.

Hope to see you around!

Today, Natalie Finally Does Superheroes

NJD_TheColorofCourage_400x600It’s release day!

See that cover? When she saw it, my daughter declared that cover her favorite of all my covers. It didn’t start out that way. When I got the first draft, it had a guy on the cover. Which is fine. He wasn’t my kind of cover model and didn’t really fit any of the characters, but does that matter? Nah. Except this book is first person from Daley Charm’s point of view, so having a guy on the cover is a little misleading.

This was round 2. And she’s kind of perfect. See that little tilt of the head, the way she looks at you from under her eyelids, that bravado hiding insecurity and self-doubt? That’s ALL Daley. She’s an empath who can see emotions manifest as colors. Which is very helpful to her team of superheroes because she can see where people are in a building, anticipate what they’re going to do, help find survivors on a rescue mission, and more. But since her ability isn’t physical like everyone else’s, she sometimes feels like more of a liability than an asset.

And of course, when the bad guys start targeting her team, that becomes the core of her conflict.

I’m really excited to finally bring my superhero series to my readers! I hope you like The Color of Courage.

From high-rise ledges to charming residential neighborhoods in Washington, DC, a team of superheroes saves people and battles villains…while struggling with bill collectors, day jobs, and complicated love lives.

Empath Daley Charm feels like the weakest member of the city’s superhero team—especially when someone targets them for destruction. Her insecurities also complicate her relationship with team leader Adam Tarantino, especially since she can’t “see” emotions that are about her.

When missions start going dramatically wrong, Adam pulls away even more, knowing his feelings would reveal an exploitable weakness that could mean the end of the team. As they struggle to discover who’s sabotaging their missions, Daley must confront her own self-worth and faith in her abilities. Does she step away to protect her friends, or stand with them and risk someone getting hurt…or worse?

New Release! Aftershocks is finally here!

Aftershocks FinalI am so excited to finally bring you this book!

I call Aftershocks a cross between National Treasure and Sweet Home Alabama, the Reese Witherspoon movie. Zoe must find a missing treasure and stop the madman after both it and her, and she’s doing so with the help of two very different guys. Grant’s a mercenary, kind of rough, and he’s part of the past she has worked REALLY hard to leave behind. Kell is a polished attorney who’s very comfortable in a ballroom.

But during the quest, Zoe finds that both men are more complex than they seem, and her relationships with them reveal a lot more about herself than she knew was there.

And, of course, as is common in my books, there are bad guys and good guys and thwarted goals and life-threatening situations all along the way. You can read an excerpt here, and if you want more, purchase at Amazon.

Happy reading!

Introducing Tiny Treats—a FREE Collection of Micro Stories!

Tiny Treats: A Holiday CollectionI am really excited to be part of a new collection of very very short stories, all set during an end-of-year holiday.

These stories are “micro” because they’re satisfying presentations of the most exciting moments at the beginning of a romance, and they can be read in just a few minutes. Perfect for this busy time of year!

Most are set at Christmastime, but there are several holidays represented. Most are contemporary, but some are paranormal or historical. Some are prequels or sequels or related to the author’s existing worlds. And all are wonderful! (And I wouldn’t say that if I hadn’t genuinely enjoyed every single one.

The collection is COMPLETELY FREE anywhere e-books are sold. Get direct links to the retailers here.

And happy holidays! However many of them you celebrate. 🙂
